Everything you need to know about Sheffield Bachata Collective
Sheffield Bachata Collective is Sheffield's most inclusive dance community dedicated to making social dancing accessible to everyone. We organise weekly classes, social events, and workshops focused on Bachata dancing with our core values of respect, inclusivity, and growth.
Not at all! One of our key features is Role Rotation, which means you'll learn to both lead and follow. This eliminates the need for a fixed partner and allows everyone to dance with everyone. Come solo and meet new people!
Role Rotation means learning both leading and following in Bachata. This approach doubles your dancing skills, makes you a more versatile dancer, and ensures everyone can dance with anyone regardless of gender or experience level.
Absolutely! We welcome dancers of all levels, from complete beginners to experienced dancers. Our classes are designed to be inclusive and supportive, with small class sizes ensuring personal attention to help you progress at your own pace.
Our weekly classes are launching soon! We don't have specific times yet, which is why we have a register interest form. Once you register your interest, we'll contact you with the schedule and start dates.
Class pricing will be announced once we finalise the schedule. We're committed to keeping classes affordable and accessible to everyone. Follow us on social media or register your interest to be the first to know about pricing.
Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely. For footwear, avoid rubber soles as they can stick to the floor. Leather-soled shoes, dance shoes, or even socks work well. Most importantly, wear something that makes you feel confident!

Bachata is a romantic dance style that originated in the Dominican Republic. It's characterised by its sensual hip movements, close connection between partners, and passionate music. It's perfect for social dancing and is accessible to beginners while offering endless possibilities for advanced dancers.
